Siddhu Moosewala's last song SYL banned on YouTube after complaint by Indian government within 2 days of release
Sidhu Moosewala’s latest song SYL, the first to be released after his death, has been removed from YouTube. The song highlights various issues such as undivided Punjab, 1984 Sikh Riots, farmer laws, Sikh flag hoisting at the Red Fort during the farmer agitation and Sikh militants.
Written and composed by Sidhu Moose Wala before he was shot dead in May, the new song was released by music producer MXRCI on Friday, June 23 on YouTube. However, now when you click on the link, the video is not available and the message displayed says, "This content is not available on this country domain due to a legal complaint from the government."
Photos of several militants are featured in the music video, including Bhindranwala and Balwinder Singh Jatana who was said to be a member of the pro-Khalistan Babbar Khalsa and was accused of murdering Chief engineer M.L Sikri and Superintendent engineer A.S Aulakh at the SYL office in Chandigarh on July 23, 1990.
Punjab has been demanding a reassessment of its share of the Ravi-Beas river water, while Haryana has been seeking completion of the canal to get its share.
SYL not only became an instant hit but also found itself in controversies like most of Sidhu’s song. The song was set to be released before the Operation Blue Star anniversary but the late singer was killed on May 29. It is among the few recorded songs of Moosewala, whose videos he was yet to shoot.
The song's lyrics and narrations included the "proud killings" of former Indian PM Indira Gandhi and army chief General Vaidya.
