As woman you can't get a better job then me ; Kolkata man chops off wifes hand to stop her from joining government job

 

 A 26-year-old man chopped off his wife’s hand in West Bengal’s East Burdwan district after she secured a job as a nurse at a government hospital while he just ran a grocery store, officials said on Monday.

Locals told the police that Renu Khatun was undergoing nursing training and was working as a nursing assistant at a private hospital in the nearby industrial township of Durgapur. She had also recently got a state government appointment, which made her husband irate and suspicious.

The husband has been identified as Sher Mohammod, used a pillow to press her arms and then chopped off his wife's hand, revealed preliminary reports.

Though he went on to admit his wife at a local hospital immediately, Sher concealed the severed body part at his residence to ensure the doctors won't be able to reattach it. After admitting his wife, Sher fled the hospital and soon after that, his family members too went into hiding.

Ripon Sekh, Renu’s elder brother, told mediapersons that since the time her sister got the state government appointment letter, Sher Mohammad had been insisting that she reject the offer. “However, my sister always dreamt of pursuing a nursing career and she refused. We never knew that Sher Mohammad’s feeling of insecurity will take such a tragic turn,” he said.
